What is Project SEARCH?
Project SEARCH Arkansas: ACCESS Initiative is an innovative job-training program providing a nine-month internship program for young adults, with developmental disabilities. Interns in the program complete (3) ten-week rotations at a partnering business with the goal of gaining the necessary skills to obtain competitive employment. Upon completion of the program, staff provides assistance with finding employment within the community and continued support during employment. Internships are currently available at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences (UAMS), Arkansas Children’s Hospital (ACH), CHI St. Vincent Hot Springs (CHI St. Vincent), Ouachita County Medical Center (OCMC) in Camden, St. Bernards Medical Center (St. Bernards) in Jonesboro, Mercy Fort Smith Hospital (Mercy Fort Smith), the University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff (UAPB) and Arkansas Children’s Northwest (ACNW) in Springdale, AR.
